Class B

The category B driver's license is the most widely used driver's license in Germany and is also called a car driver's license. This includes all motor vehicles with a permissible total weight of up to 3.5 t, with the exception of motorcycles.

With a regular driver's license, training can begin no earlier than 6 months before the minimum age of 18 is reached. If you are under 18, you need the consent of your parents or guardians.

The theory test can be completed 3 months before the 18th birthday, the practical test 1 month before.

Different regulations apply to accompanied driving at the age of 17.
